November 9th, 2012
FRIDAY!
4am, and I was awake this morning. There was no mistaking the time today, my mind had already woken up, and there was no putting it back to sleep.
I said Good Morning to my Sully, made coffee, and turned on the computer. We left the windows open last night, so it was 62 degrees in here when I checked the thermostat. It was a little chilly, but I know both me and Brian like to sleep in the cold, and being that Brian was still asleep, I didn’t want to crank the heat up just yet, so that he would have a good night’s sleep. We have an electric fireplace in our living room, so I turned it on, instead, and shut the kitchen window.
I played on facebook for a while, and posted this blog, then at about 6am, I grabbed my Bible, and read some more of the Lord’s instructions, the scripture that follows the 10 commandments. I have left off there, and I find that I can only read so much at a time, and really grasp it.
With my day started off right, I was tired of sitting, so I started some laundry, washed some dishes, and cleaned the kitchen. Brian got up as I was starting to wipe off the counters, at about 7am.
We had planned yesterday to see Daddy and meet Granny at Mama’s at around 10, but we ended up going over there at about 9:15, after we fed all the dogs and cats.
I think Daddy really liked all the things we got him from Florida: An LSU leather/camo wallet, and 2 harley t-shirts, one sentimental, as it has Yosemite Sam on it. Daniel had a Yosemite Sam with smoking guns with the caption “Got your tickets?” Tattoo on his arm.
We had already given Mama her things the day we got back from Florida, while Daddy was at the deer camp.
We talked about cows, and though we are not exactly sure how me and Brian are going to get into it just yet, as we have not prayed for direction, though we have prayed that God make a way, if it’s His will. If it is His will, though there may not be a way at this moment, something will develop, and the way will be opened up, we just gotta wait, be thankful, and trust in the Lord, that whatever is best for us, will become a reality.
Granny showed up at 10 on the money. She’s making a new quilt, in a pattern I’ve never seen. It has rail fence, 9 patch, and large squares all put together to make a big square, and it…is… beautiful! When I get done with Grandpa’s cross quilt, I do believe I’m going to start on one like this.
We picked up Granny a bell, as she collects them, and some Saltwater Taffy. I think she was happier with the taffy than the bell, though I know she liked both.
Mama made deer steak and gravy last night for dinner, and she had tons leftover, so I had PLENTY of deer steak, and even a little corn, mashed potatoes, and peas for lunch. She started making breakfast for Daddy, and Brian wanted a biscuit, so I had to wait for us to leave, and in the process, I fell asleep in the recliner, until about 12:45PM.
Granny gave me the idea to paint some flower pots, and Mama has a bunch leftover from the greenhouse, some antique that a nice lady gave her, all terra cotta but one. We rounded some of those up before we left, and headed to Delhi.
I picked up my plant stand today! Brian really liked it as I left Reservoir Relics this afternoon with it in hand. I would have liked to have shopped some more in there, and told the owner so. We’re just about spent out from our trip to Florida, though, so I only got the one plant stand.
We went by the bank, got a Sonic Diet Coke, and stopped by Verizon. Brian’s contract runs out tomorrow, and he has talked of nothing but phones for the past month, and wanted to check them out in person.
I think he’s going to get the Galaxy Note II, though we aren’t completely decided as of yet, because it doesn’t ship until Nov. 26th, and he wants it now. But I’m going to try to get him to just wait, cause I really think it’s the best phone on the market right now.
I have a DROID Bionic, and I am completely happy with the Android system, and the phone. Service could be better, as I get really crummy service at home with my Mobile Hotspot. I guess Verizon just hasn’t made it out to these parts just yet. J
We ran to Wal-Mart, as I was out of jug water and half and half, both for my coffee. I picked that up, and some spray paint and glitter to do my flower pots.
After we made it home, I worked on my flower pot for all of 15 minutes, only waiting an hour for it to dry in between. It took no time and it ended up really pretty: silver pot with white initial “S”, gold and copper glitter.

Which got me to thinking, silver and gold go really well together! I think that I’m going to add some silver touches to this mostly gold room, such as silver curtains, and silver and copper throw pillows, and maybe a copper lamp shade. I might even get my chair redone in copper, and then it will be silver/gold/copper! I’m so excited about it!
I talked to both Sabrina and Danielle today. I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends, that I can call anytime.
Brian watched Captain America, and I made dinner: Hamburger Helper Cheesy Hash Browns. They turned out all right, not as good as we would have thought, but for $1.50 a box, I can’t expect much! J
Brian went and played Playstation, and I joined him soon thereafter, with plans to get on the treadmill. I really didn’t want to, so I was stalling. Brian mentioned hanging up that mound of clothes in our bedroom chair, and I knew that if we did that, I wouldn’t walk tonight. When I started putting my tennis shoes on, Brian turned off the game, and said he was about to start on the clothes. I wanted to be near him tonight, so I took my shoes off, and it took us an hour to hang up all those clothes, and get them organized and color coded in my closet.
My closet is packed, and I’m not going to be able to buy any more clothes right now, because they won’t fit! So until I lose some more weight, and can sell some of these clothes, I’m just going to wear the same ole crap over and over.
Brian is now watching Spiderman on Demand, and he just made me some coffee, my last few sips of the night. I need to count my calories, I’m just wondering if the deer steak is even on that app? I don’t know. I guesstimate I had around 1500-1700 today, and I didn’t burn any of that off with a walk. I’ll just have to get up and do it tomorrow…..probably in the morning, because it helps to go ahead and get it over with.
