Wednesday

4:03am

We went to bed listening to Christmas music last night, and I slept so good. Coffee is brewing, and I’ve got my Bible out, and am going to read it here in just a minute.

It’s 4am, and that means I get Brian up in an hour, at 5. I’ll walk at 5:30 for 30 minutes and then Brian at 6 for 30, I hope, if we can both muster it. Right now I’m thinking I’ll take my fluid pill tomorrow, because I weighed last Friday, and I’d like to keep on the same track, and give myself a full week. I am anxious to see how I did this week. Now that I look at my calendar, this is only the 2nd  time since Friday that I will have exercised. I know my calories have been about 1500, shouldn’t that be low enough to lose weight? I’ve heard you take what you want to weigh, and add a zero to it, and that should be your calorie goal. If that’s correct, and  I’d like to weigh 140,  shouldn’t my calorie intake be around 1400? That system may be archaic, though. I’ll have to look it up again.

5:46pm

Today was very productive indeed. At 5 oclock I got Brian up, and we sat around for an hour, until 6. I didn’t feel like walking first, but Brian had no problem with it. We set our goal for at least 20 minutes, and we both succeeded. I even got my walking up to 3.2 mph for a good 10 minutes, my heart rate accelerated, and I was sweating.

We got dressed, and decided that since we weren’t going anywhere today, I would just wear my pj pants to work, and take a pair of blue jeans with me, just in case.

As soon as I got to work, I decided not to pull out the computer, but to head back to my sewing area, and begin quilting on that baby blanket. I expected to only do 2 rows today. I put into motion the motto “Help yourself”. Every time I would get tired, I would think this, and would continue. It was kinda like I was the boss, and I was the employee. There were two people working today, and I got that entire baby blanket quilted in 2 hours or less.

When I finished the quilting, Mama’s red beans and rice had just got finished cooking, so both me and Brian decided to go ahead and have lunch. She made the cutest little corn bread triangles & corn sticks, which I also ate with  my beans & rice. Mama puts jalapenos in her red beans, and it was spicy, warm, and delicious, just what we needed on this cold day.

I took a nap after dinner, and slept til about 1:30pm. Brian had gone to the bank, and I called him to let him know I was up, to see where he was, and he was on his way back. When he made it back, I decided to go ahead and finish the quilt today, as I had about 3 ½ hours to kill, and why would I waste the rest of the day?

I put on the binding, and congratulated my new employee, myself, and inspected my results. I thought it was the cutest little baby blanket, good enough to buy in a store, and I hoped that Tammy, Todd &  Brett would like it.  Brian was very pleased, as I took pictures to post to Facebook.

Pictures posted to Facebook, Mrs. Debra gave me the highest compliment of all, saying that I have a gift, so Thank You Mrs. Debra! Tammy said she loves it, and I’m so glad, and can’t wait til Thanksgiving when we will see them, and both me and Brian can give them their gift. We missed the baby shower, because we were in Florida that week.

Brian ate another bowl of red beans & rice, but I skipped out on it, because I know that one bowl is plenty in a day. I may have some tomorrow though. I’m not cooking dinner, because of the calories in those red beans. I’m drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes, and tomorrow both me and Brian will take our fluid pills, and weigh on Friday.

I got finished with the quilt by 3 oclock, and I killed time the rest of the day. We watched Friends, and I talked to Sabrina, who is coming in this Saturday, and I’m hoping I’ll get to see her, and I’m hoping she’ll come by and see our home.

I decided to bring Grandpa’s quilt home with me, because I don’t have any more fabric to begin on another one at home. It costs around 100 dollars just to buy the fabric, and we are still recouping from vacation.

We drove up, and Sambo was waiting on us, and so was Mr. Sully. He immediately investigated my sewing basket, and I know he will be my little companion while I sew tonight.
