Thursday, 1st full day home from vacation J
9:15pm
Welcome! I’ve been writing here and there here lately, and as a
result, I have decided to give this blog another go. Hope you like it! J
The clock said 6am when I got
up this morning. It wasn’t until
8:30am, that I realized that it was really 7:30, and I had done texted
Annette Ford this morning, in the hopes of buying a plant stand from
her today.
8:30am, that I realized that it was really 7:30, and I had done texted
Annette Ford this morning, in the hopes of buying a plant stand from
her today.
When I checked the time on my computer, I quickly realized,
OH CRAP! I hope I didn’t wake her up!
I drank my coffee, and Mr. Sully was my little bathroom buddy
first thing, saying Good Morning. He’s just like a kid, he goes to the
bathroom with me every time I go….thought about him in Ft.
Walton, and missed my little friend.
Brian got up at 8 oclock just about on the money. He tried to
persuade me to make him some coffee, as we have this banter every
morning, and every evening, over who’s going to make the coffee,
and who’s going to pour the cups!
Annette texted me back, and I quickly apologized. She said she’d drop off the plant stand in Delhi around 12, so I planned on being there at 12:15, and hoped to run into her there.
I started some laundry, and then made us some grilled cheese
for breakfast. I had 1 sandwich, and Brian had 2. Brian still didn’t
have his coffee.
After the second load of clothes, and unpacking 2 suitcases of
clothes, I thought I might go somewhere early, and decided to head
to my parents house, and see how Mama was doing.
I really didn’t feel like getting dressed today, so I just threw on
some pj pants, and my tie-dyed tshirt, flip flops, and a hat. I washed
my face, brushed my teeth. It’s kinda Brian’s fault I dressed this
way. Usually, he’ll say, No, you can’t wear pajama pants out in
public. Today, however, he was anxious to get me out of the house.
Staying at home on a weekday, all alone with the kitties and Sambo
was enticing him, so he just let me wear whatever I wanted, just to
get me out the door.
Mama wasn’t home when I got there, but Pappy was barking
and begging to be let in, so I unlocked the door, and about that time,
Mama drove up. She had been out working on a tower in Mound.
I visited with her until 11 oclock, and then headed to Monroe to
the bank. I had just enough time to get to the bank, and back to
Delhi to meet Annette. The ringtone, “Love Shack” started blaring,
and I knew it was Brian calling to check on me. I set up that
ringtone yesterday on the way home, and both me and Brian get a
real kick out of it.
I was having bad heartburn, so I stopped at the gas station, and
a nice young girl helped me find some Zantac. Annette called me on
the way back, and said something had come up, so we made
arrangements for me to pick up the plant stand tomorrow.
I wasn’t completely satisfied with the Zantac, as my esophagus
was still hurting, so I called Aunt Becky to see if that was normal.
From what I understand, she gets that when she has bronchitis, and I
thought, oh crap!, it’s cause of my chronic bronchitis because I
smoke. Great.
I missed my exit at Bee Bayou, and had to turn back at Holly
Ridge to go to Cannon’s, and get cigarettes for me, and dip for
Brian.
There was a cop sitting at Cannon’s, and I slowed down,
nodded my hat to the officer, and pulled in. I got my tobacco, and
took Bee Bayou road home. Love Shack blared again, and it was
Brian, and he was ready for me to come home. He had enough of
the house to himself for this day.
Neither one of us felt like doing anything at all today, and felt the heavy burden of responsibilities on our hearts. It was all I could do to get the clothes washed, and unpack the bags. I couldn’t even muster the energy to hang up the clothes we hadn’t worn, and they are in a pile on the bed, just waiting to be hung up before we go to bed. That is, if we don’t throw them in the chair, and do it tomorrow.
We decided on an early
dinner, so we had pastries for lunch. I
had 2 Zingers, 1 twinkie, and a half of a chocolate chip cookie, and
a fun size bag of doritos cool ranch. When dinner time rolled around
at 4, the deer steak wasn’t thawed, so I decided to just make some
Caesar Suddenly Salad, and add some tuna to it. The back of the
box had a recipe for BLT Caesar, so I added the ranch dressing it
called for as well. Disgusting, is all I can say, and we didn’t eat but
one bite, and I made tuna sandwiches with 2 more cans of tuna.
Brian had chips with his, but I just ate the one sandwich.

We sat down together, and talked about vacation. It has gone from what we want to do, to what we have to do, and it was just about more than we could bear. Jesus said, “Come to me all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” I said a prayer, telling Jesus that I can’t, but He can, and Jesus arrived, and is helping me carry these burdens……and I’ve got to say, I feel light!
The Good thing about God is…..if He takes something, He’s
not going to give it back, because HE is the FAITHFUL One! It
doesn’t depend upon what I do, it depends upon what He does.
He’s not going to bring us down a road just to drop us off in the
middle of it! HE’ll pull us all the way through it, even if we are
kicking and screaming in the process……as long as we continue to
trust HIM, the path will never stop, for He is Eternal and Endless!
I talked to Mama tonight at about 5:30pm. She had a hectic day, and was tired tonight. Daddy was at the camp, and she wasn’t expecting him tonight.
I called Granny, and she had
been washing clothes today too. She listened to me talk about my day, and what
all I did, and then we talked about walking, and she said I needed to go do it,
and she’d let me go. I agreed, and told her I love her, and we got off the
phone.
Brian was in the mancave
tonight when I got ready to walk. I
grabbed my tennis shoes, and announced that even if I only walked
5 minutes, I was walking tonight! Brian agreed, and I got on the
treadmill. Those first few minutes felt so good, that I just kept on
walking, and set my goal for 30 minutes. At 20 I thought I would
stop, and made an excuse, then said, what if? And kept on walking
for 10 more minutes, to 30. It was Brian’s turn next, and he grabbed
his tennis shoes, and took off. He walked and did awesome, and
thought about stopping at 20 as well, but we slowed it down a little,
and he finished the last 10, very well.

I called Daddy, and he was at home with Mama tonight, about
to eat some deer steak, corn, and mashed potatoes. We talked about
the blog, and about Florida, and deer hunting…..and we plan on
seeing him tomorrow morning, if he doesn’t go get in the deer stand
at 3 am, because it’s the last week to bow hunt.
I got on facebook, and Todd Sullivan, Brian’s brother, called,
and they talked for a while. I posted during their conversation, and
then went and got in the shower, and what a marvelous shower it
was…and I am so fresh, so clean.
Me and Brian have been sitting up in the living room talking tonight, about God, Jesus, and Heaven, and what it’s probably going to be like…..and we are uplifted.
I pray for all my friends tonight, that the Lord God, Good in
everything He does, will draw you close, and help you to grow in
Him. Wishing everyone a blessing, as they read.
