Brian and I are sitting in the living room watching re-runs of Seinfeld, and I am feeling full, and a little bit anxious for coffee. Brian just got up, and is making it now, and got himself a beer in the process.

I feel like I’ve been in the car all day. We drove to Mama’s, 15 minute drive first thing this morning. I checked my email, all sales ads, and perused the black Friday ads already out. I got a little hungry, it was almost 9:30, and I had been up since 3:45am, so I grabbed two mini Baby Ruths (170), a few crackers(200), some artichoke bruschetta(50), and a handful of mini wasabi pretzels(50)= (470). But something just didn’t sit right, I just wanted something else.

Around 10 this morning, I called Sabrina to meet me at Hancock Fabrics, for a little shopping for the blanket I’m making for Grandma. Sabrina said she’d leave in about 20 minutes, so I figured I’d beat her there. I stopped at Cannon’s on the way, bought a Diet Coke and a honeybun for both me and Brian, and headed that way. 600 calories for lunch, and I thought about it before I decided to eat it, but it sat right, so that makes 1070 so far today.

I almost fell asleep on the drive over, so because I knew I had at least 20 minutes after I got there, I decided I would just take a nap in the car. I must have picked the perfect spot, because neither car on either side of me ever moved, there were no people getting in and out of these cars, and I was perfectly hidden as I took my nap in the sun this morning. When I woke, I texted Sabrina, and she was about 2 minutes away, and we walked in the store together.

Sabrina, little Cam, and I all dug through fabric, finding some great deals here and there. I bought a large variety, but was conservative, buying ¼ yard to ½ yard on most, except for that I’m using for the backs. It’s all mostly flowers, in different shapes, sizes, and colors, some birds, and springy type stuff. I want my Grandmother to think of a crisp spring day when she looks at it during these long winter days ahead, and feel comforted, and hopeful.

I also bought the cutest baby duck flannel for the back of another baby blanket I’m making for my niece, Leslie. It’s mostly baby blue, which is perfect, because she is having a little boy, and is naming him Thomas Bentley. I’m going to be making this blanket this week, and am hoping to be done with it soon, as he is due to be born very soon.

Last minute buys, I ran across some awesome white and silver ornaments for 60% off. Sabrina, Mrs. Janice, and I all grabbed what we wanted, and headed to the checkout counter.  I spent way less than I usually do, and was thrilled with the prices I got on all my fabric. I usually buy a yard of each when quilting, and cutting down to ¼ and ½ yards really saved me a lot of money, and I’m positive I will have plenty of fabric to finish.

I was offered an invitation to eat lunch with the group, but seeing as I had a honey bun and all that other food, I was full already, and didn’t feel the need to eat again, I would just feel like a pig, so I passed, regretfully, because I would have liked to have spent some more time with Sabrina and family, though I may get to before she leaves to go back home to Florida on Saturday.

I drove back to Mama’s, pretty pleased with my purchases, and excited about the sewing table I was picking up today.  I called Brian, to let him know I was on my way back, and see if he could think of anything he needed while I was out. He said no, but on the way back, he phoned saying he was hungry, and I was almost to our exit, but I had a honeybun I had picked up for him earlier this morning. It filled him up too, and we quickly agreed, there’s just something about honeybuns.

Me and Brian took pictures together, and argued that the other one was better looking, until we both agreed, and Mama agreed, we are pretty much evenly matched. I posted one to facebook, looked at the time, and decided if I was going to pick up that sewing table, and take Mr. Sully to the vet, I had better get going now, because it was 2pm.

I borrowed Mama’s 4runner, as the table was in no way going to fit in the back of our Accord. The kind kids at the Perry home let me know immediately that they would load the table for me without me even asking, and I was very impressed by their manners and respect. I gave them the envelope with the $75, and headed to the grocery store, as I saw a wonderful chicken salad in a photo today, and I was craving it seriously, and already had some chicken boiled and seasoned at home.

I ran across a vegetable platter while I was at the grocery store, and decided to buy the vegetables separately instead, as there will be more of each, and it would probably cost less.

I called Brian on the way back, to see if he could leave early, and help me unload this desk, and bring Mr. Sully to the vet with me. I picked him up, and he carried the desk indoors all by himself, he insisted, the big strong man.

Mr. Sully was a good little kitty on the way, and didn’t hardly cry too much, or too loud, and we tried to soothe him all the way there. Dr. Bennett examined him, and he determined that, in fact, Mr. Sully does have a urinary tract infection, and gave him a shot, and sent home some drops to give every day, twice daily until the bottle is gone. I am so impressed every time I go to Morris Vet. They are the kindest vets I’ve ever met, knowledgeable, caring, friendly, and down to earth. I wouldn’t go anywhere else if someone paid me.

We had to make a pit stop on the way home, to get our car, our computers, my fabric, and the Christmas cactus Mama bought me while in Shreveport this weekend. Brian and I both had two hot wings a piece at Mama’s (80)=1150.

We finally made it home, and I got in my pj’s, and then made us a salad. Lettuce (0) Tomato (20) cucumber (0) chicken (150) salad dressing lite (50) olive oil (100) = 320. Plus the 1150=   1470 and then coffee today (300)=1770, and I’m not eating anything else today.

Upon reflection, and calorie counting, I am most glad that 1770 is my count for today. I ate everything I wanted, do not feel deprived, and do not want anything else. If I walked my 30 minutes today, subtract 200 from that, and it would be 1570.  It’s 8pm now, and I’m not going to walk tonight.

I can’t seem to get motivated again. I worked so hard for so long, and though I’ve lost weight, it was only 5 lbs a month, and I’m wanting to lose at least 8 lbs a month, or 2 lbs a week. I was walking every day, for heaven’s sakes! It wasn’t until I got sick and couldn’t eat ANYTHING, that I lost another 2 ½ lbs. Getting started again….. I mean…..what works!?

I know running for 10 minutes doesn’t work, I know I’ve got to walk at least 30 minutes. I know not lifting weights makes me gain inches, and lifting weights makes me gain pounds. What to do? I’m pretty sure if I stay at 1400-1500 calories a day I’ll lose weight…..????? I’ve tried so many things…..

New game plan. Lift weights, walk 30 minutes a day. Eat 1400-1500 calories. Stick with that. No variation. No running, no cutting times, no skipping on the weights. Try that for a month, and see how I do. I’ll give it one more month….through December 19th, 2012.
